We begin this week with our K9 Corner with the Chief.

Benefits of Private K9 Training

I am always asked about my training style and techniques. It is simple and focuses on the real world and the environment in which you and your K9 live.

I endorse private one-on-one K9 training to all my potential clients. Further I do insist that we begin in your home and the neighbourhood in which you live. In your house, backyard and neighbourhood is where there could be triggers for you and your K9.

It is imperative to have a professional trainer that provides 100% training delivery for every second of your session. This will assist in eliminating or reducing the problem behaviours. You will also see an improvement of on and off leash obedience to a pleasing level.

Many of my clients quickly learn from me that I am training them, not their dogs.  With proven techniques, tools and a well-balanced approach positive results will be achieved.

I do not endorse group training or board and train for many reasons. When you train in the real world, your canine will be exposed to noises, vehicles, other dogs and humans. If your K9 is not exposed to the real-life environment you will have a much harder time trying to manage your canine. Remember if you don’t train them, you cannot blame them.

Please feel free to reach out to me anytime to discuss your K9 needs.

 Welcome to Doggie Dialogue

Yes, dogs can have best friends, sometimes best humans, and even other animals!!! K9’s will form deep social bonds built on preference, trust, and cooperative behaviours.

K9’s will show clear excitement and eagerness to play with dogs, people, and even another animal. Some dogs will form a strong friendship with sheep, cattle, and donkeys, which can contribute to their overall well-being.

When your K9 meets their BBF you will notice a difference in their body language, wiggly body, relaxed facial expression and soft eyes.

When your K9 meets up with another dog friend, there is a comfort between both. They will groom each other, stay close, and even explore together.

You can help with your K9’s socialization by arranging playdates with their favourite K9 or human to strengthen their bond. With consistent routines, regular walks, this will create positive social experiences for your K9.
