We begin this week’s “RUFF TAILS” featuring a beautiful 11-month-old pure bred mini poodle with a champion blood line named Jojo.
Jojo is full charge energy pup that never tires of playtime.

He is presently undergoing training with Paul as an emotional support dog for his owner.

It would be a dull house without him.
Welcome to Doggie Dialogue
We are often asked what type of “treats” we give our dog/dogs. Jaxon loves raw carrots, and peanut butter with apples. We recommend using the Kraft 100% Peanut Butter which has, one ingredient: PEANUTS. Remember to read the ingredients on the peanut butter, as some brands are still using xylitol or birch sugar, which is very toxic to dogs.

Here are a few wonderful fall recipes that your K9 will love. On a rainy day you can bake these Peanut Butter and Pumpkin K9 Treats.
Recipe: 2.5 cups of whole wheat flour
2 eggs
½ cup of canned pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie filling)
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
2 Tablespoons of Kraft All-Natural Peanut Butter
Preheat oven to 350 and mix all ingredients in a bowl. Water can be added but the dough should be dry and stiff. Using your hands, roll the dough into a ½ “thick log. Chop into 0.5” pieces and lay flat to bake for 40 minutes.

For a simple and quick recipe for busy families we would recommend the No Bake Pumpkin/Peanut Butter dog treats.
1.5 cups of Oats
½ cup of Peanut Butter
1/3 cup of canned pumpkin
1 small apple shredded
Mix all above ingredients together in a bowl, separate and form the mixture into small bite size balls. Serve right away.
Another great K9 recipe is Doggy Tasty Apple Chips.
Wash your apples and cut out the core and seeds. Slice the apples into thin slices and put on a baking tray, place apple slices into the oven for 120 minutes or until golden. Let cool and serve as a tasty K9 treat.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, here is a simple Thanksgiving Dinner Recipe for your K9.
3 cups of cooked turkey thighs (no bones, carcass, or seasoning allowed)
¾ cup of steamed green beans (no seasoning)
¾ cup of steamed broccoli (no seasoning)
¾ cup of squash (no seasoning)
Fully cook the squash in the oven, when fully cooked, add steam the vegetables, with cooked turkey together in a bowl and serve. For picky K9’s place all ingredients in the food processor or blender.

I hope you have a chance to try one of the recipes throughout the Fall season.
